Here are the essential care tips for keeping a marimo moss ball healthy:

Water: Use dechlorinated water - either filtered, distilled, or tap water that’s been left out for 24 hours to let chlorine evaporate. Change the water every 1-2 weeks.

Light: Keep in low to moderate indirect light. Direct sunlight will harm them, and they actually prefer dimmer conditions than most aquatic plants.

Temperature: Room temperature is perfect, ideally between 65-78°F. They prefer cooler water and can handle temperatures down to around 60°F.

Movement: Gently roll or rotate your marimo every few days to help maintain its round shape and ensure all sides get light. In nature, they roll around with water currents.

Cleaning: If the water gets cloudy or the marimo feels slimy, rinse it gently under cool running water and squeeze it lightly to clean it.

Container: Any clean glass container works - no need for special equipment. Make sure it’s large enough that the marimo isn’t cramped.
