Simply, how do I care for my moss balls?

Moss balls require minimal maintenance. It is recommended to change the water every two to three weeks and to ensure they receive indirect sunlight. This will help maintain their vibrant green color and overall health.

  • Every so often, gently squeeze and roll
    your moss ball to retain it’s shape.
  • Lighting: Provide low to moderate lighting. Direct sunlight can cause the marimo to become too hot and potentially die.
  • Water: Use filtered or bottled water. Tap water contains chlorine and fluoride which can harm the marimo. Change the water every 1-2 weeks.
  • Temperature: Keep the marimo in an environment with a consistent temperature between 72°F to 82°F (22°C to 28°C). Avoid placing near heating or cooling vents.
  • Humidity: Marimo thrive in humid environments. You can cover the top of the container with plastic wrap or a damp cloth to maintain humidity.
  • Feeding: Marimo are photosynthetic and do not require feeding. In fact, feeding can harm them.
  • Cleaning: Gently remove any debris or algae growth on the glass using a soft brush. Avoid touching the marimo as the oils from your skin can harm it.
  • Propagation: Marimo can be propagated by gently breaking off a small piece and allowing it to grow into a new ball.

Can I customize my order?

Currently, we offer complete kits (which you cannot customize). Otherwise, the rest of our products are customizable. You choose your Marimo Mates, each has an assigned gemstone [see adoptaballs list]. Secondly, you choose the type of vessel you would like your mate to arrive in. Easy & the way you want it.

What is the shipping policy?

We aim to process and ship orders within 1 business day. Delivery times may vary based on your location, but most orders are received within 5-7 business days after shipping. Free ground shipping on all orders, regardless of size.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged?

If your order arrives damaged, please contact our customer service within 48 hours of receipt. We will require photographic evidence of the damage to assist you effectively and ensure a resolution.

Do you offer returns or exchanges?
